History:
The Computer Society of Iran (CSI)
was founded in July 1994 by a number of faculty members of
different Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
departments and research institutions in Tehran, Iran.
Objectives:
- Advancementof the theory and practice in the field of
computer science and engineering in Iran
- Serving as a national forum for computing specialists
- Promotion of research and its application in the industry
- Evaluation of the computing curricula practiced in
universities in Iran and giving proposals
- Cooperation with companies active on information
technology serving the informatics society
- Promotion and exchange of information in this field among
members
- Providing opportunities for members and other computer
specialists to meet and work together in special interest
groups
- Cooperation with the informatics officials of Iran in
defining strategic plans and projects, proposing
standards, etc.
